Your metalworking business runs on decisions. HiggX makes them scale
HiggX is the intelligence layer for high-mix metalworking — an open platform where AI agents orchestrate quoting, planning, and production so your business grows beyond the limits of your best people.
Be the first to build on HiggX APIs, MCPs, and workflow services.
From the makers of Quotation Factory10+ years of AI for metalworking, now evolved.
From Quotation Factory to HiggX
For over a decade, Quotation Factory has helped metal fabricators quote faster and more accurately. We've automated feature recognition, structured the inquiry-to-quote workflow, and connected CAD, ERP, and production systems for manufacturers across Europe.
That work taught us something important. Faster quoting is not
enough. The real bottleneck in high-mix manufacturing isn't any single step — it's the decisions that connect them. Quoting depends on engineering. Engineering depends on planning. Planning depends on capacity. And all of it depends on a handful of experienced people who carry the logic in their heads.
HiggX is what comes next. It takes everything we've learned about metalworking decision-making and extends it across the entire value chain — from RFQ intake to delivery. Not as a bigger tool with more screens, but as an open platform where AI agents do the heavy lifting.
Quotation Factory remains our proven quoting platform. HiggX is the evolution: the operating system for agentic metalworking.
Decisions don't scale. That's the real problem.
If you run a high-mix, low-volume shop, you already know this: Your operation doesn't fail because people don't work hard enough. It fails under pressure when decisions stop scaling.
Quoting depends on two or three experienced estimators. If one is out, things slow down.
Every estimator quotes the same part differently — margins vary, consistency drops.
Planning becomes constant firefighting between priorities, constraints, and exceptions.
You turn away RFQs because your team is too busy to quote them.
Most software was built for environments where products repeat and routings are stable. High-mix manufacturing is different. Variation isn't a bug — it's your business model.
And yet, the decisions your people make every day — Can we make this? How should we route it? What will it cost? Who can supply it? — follow patterns. They repeat, even when the parts don't.
That's the gap HiggX fills.ng.
An intelligence layer for the entire metalworking flow
HiggX connects your existing systems — CAD, ERP, MES, supplier networks — through a shared metalworking ontology and a framework for AI agents that handle decisions across the value chain.
It doesn't replace your current tools. It makes them work together intelligently.
Built for the people who build metalworking
Metal fabricators
Process more RFQs, quote consistently, protect margins, reduce expert dependency
Owners and directors
A business that scales on structured intelligence, not individual heroics
Estimators and planners
Agents handle the routine. You handle the exceptions and complex judgment calls
System integrators
Plug-and-play APIs, semantic interoperability, standard protocols (OPC UA, REST, gRPC)
Developers
SDKs, agent templates, metalworking ontology, and an open ecosystem to build on
An RFQ arrives. An agent reads the drawing, checks manufacturability against your machine capabilities, estimates routing and cost, identifies materials that need sourcing, and drafts a quotation — all within minutes, not days. Your estimator reviews the result, adjusts where judgment is needed, and approves. The quote goes out. The customer says yes. An agent pushes the order to ERP, schedules production, and notifies the shop floor. Your people didn't disappear. They stopped doing repetitive work and started making the decisions that actually need a human. That's HiggX in action.
Let's be clear about what HiggX is not
High-mix manufacturing will always involve variation, judgment, and trade-offs. The question is whether those decisions remain implicit, inconsistent, and dependent on a few people — or whether they become structured, explainable, and reusable across the organization. We built Quotation Factory to solve one piece of that puzzle. HiggX exists to solve the whole thing — carefully, realistically, and without pretending high-mix operations are something they are not. This is not a pivot away from our mission. It's the logical completion of it.
